We Are Specialists
Many Years Experience
Proven Track Record
Christs Hospital School
Traction Sports Ltd are employed by independent school of the year 2024 Christs Hospital School, and have been for many years. We sit on the project team for a ground-breaking new development at the historic school. Design and planning of the project has been achieved, with construction currently underway and a planned completion date of Summer 2025.
A fantastic scheme for both the school and the local community which will ensure state of the art facilities are available year round. The scheme consists of an athletics track with field facilities, a natural grass pitch, a synthetic hockey pitch with a training area and a skills zone. There will also be 4 padel courts, a one of a kind adventure trail, and the redevelopment of the leisure centre, with all associated infrastructure and landscaping that comes with a project of this magnitude.
Lambrook School
Traction Sports Ltd were approached by Lambrook School to assist in the refurbishment of their existing hockey pitch. The successful project has lead to further work with the prestigious prep school. Traction Sports now advise the grounds team and Bursar on multiple facilities across the school site, including new build projects and maintenance of the natural grounds. This includes a testing schedule to provide evidence based guidance to the school maintenance and senior leadership teams.
St John’s School (Leatherhead)
St John’s School have been a client of Traction Sports Ltd since 2001, (the first ever synthetic pitch that David worked on was at St John’s – there have been over 100 since). We have continued working for the school on many projects this year. These include cricket work, grounds maintenance contracts and testing regime, proposed winter sports facilities, and the renovation of the 2001 hockey pitch, (this pitch hasn’t been refurbished since – a great achievement by the school grounds team and testament to David’s project management!).
Highfield and Brookham Schools
Despite the winter weather’s best efforts, we were delighted to announce the completion of this superb facility. Having desired a synthetic facility for over 20 years, this FIH certified pitch was worth the wait! Complete with a warm-up area and 500 lux floodlighting schemes, many aspiring hockey players will enjoy the facility for years to come. It was a pleasure to work for the school in a project management capacity, who were an excellent client.
Malvern College
This was our second pitch refurbishment of the summer and second pitch that we have worked on for the school. It is on the back of a £1 million water based synthetic hockey facility that we finished two or three years ago. This summer’s project was the refurbishment of an existing sand filled surface to create an FIH National sand dressed hockey facility. Sand dressed surfaces are the contemporary choice for modern hockey facilities.
It was completed on time, on budget and well within the school summer holiday calendar. It represents best practice and all the materials selected are deemed to be the best available in the industry for this purpose. We assisted the college with procuring a suitable contractor with the necessary expertise and in-house capability to carry out the work. We are delighted that the school now has two top level hockey pitches and can host major hockey events in the future.
Cranleigh School
Cranleigh School have appointed Traction Sports to assist them in 2025 with the refurbishment of their 'Pickup' pitch. This continues the next chapter in our long standing relationship with the school, and is pitch number 4 at the school for Traction Sports. Feasibility and site survey works have been undertaken, with the tender process due to start in the new year.
The King's School Canterbury
We have recently embarked on a MUGA refurbishment project for the King's family of Schools which maintains our relationship with them across several projects, with lots of ideas and schemes in the pipeline for the future. According to the Independent Schools Council, The King's School Canterbury is reputedly the oldest school in the world. With heritage at the forefront, our creative muscles can flex when considering design and construction requirements.
The above is a small representation of the work that we do at Traction Sports. We are proud to be involved with over 50 schools, local authorities and sports clubs.
